Bund Floor Lining — Food Processing Facility

Bund floor lining and drainage channel treatment for a Yorkshire food processing facility — installed during a planned shutdown.

The Challenge

The bund containment for a chemical dosing area within a food processing facility required a fully impermeable, food-safe lining system. The work had to be carried out within a 7-day planned shutdown window during which production was offline. Drainage channels, pipe penetrations and a perimeter upstand all required detail treatment in addition to the main bund floor.

Our Solution

We installed a food-safe epoxy resin coating system at 800 micron dry film thickness, with vinyl ester reinforcement at penetrations and drainage details. Surface preparation was performed by closed-cabin grit blasting to minimise dust contamination of adjacent food-handling areas. The team worked in shifts to keep the installation on schedule.

The Result

The bund lining was completed on day six of the seven-day window, allowing production to resume on schedule. Final inspection confirmed full coverage, correct thickness and a hygienic finish suitable for the regulatory regime.
